A River Town
Screen Porch Installation in Canton, From Downtown to the Suburbs
Canton is the county seat of Cherokee County, and the Etowah River flows east to west straight through the center of the city. Heritage Park, the first phase of the Etowah River Greenway, puts a trail beside that water. Living close to a river has its rewards, along with the mosquitoes and gnats that come with warm, damp evenings.
Screen porch installation in Canton gives you a place to enjoy those evenings without the bites. We frame a custom enclosure to the porch or covered deck you already have and fill it with tight insect screen, so the breeze comes through and the bugs stay out. The porch becomes an extra room for meals, reading or watching the kids play in the yard.
The town has changed a great deal over the years. The Canton Cotton Mills, known for their denim, closed in 1981, and today a historic theater anchors Main Street while neighborhoods spread out along Interstate 575 and Georgia State Route 20. Older homes near downtown and newer houses off the highway both benefit from a well screened porch, which is why a screen porch contractor in Canton, GA sees such a range of projects.
Choosing a Screen Porch Contractor in Canton, GA
A good porch project starts with an honest look at what you have, and that is the first thing a screen porch contractor in Canton, GA should give you. Russ Henderson owns Nelson Aluminum Products Inc, and whether you need a simple screen replacement or a full enclosure, he will help you find the right solution for your home. Here is the work we take on in Canton:
- Custom screen porch enclosures for open porches and covered decks
- Porch rescreening for sound frames with torn or worn screen
- Eze-Breeze porch enclosures that open and close with the weather
- Window screen installation for new and custom window screens
Window screens in Canton, GA matter as much as the porch on a pleasant day. New custom screens let you open the house to fresh air without letting in the insects that thrive near the river.

An Eze-Breeze Porch in Canton for Spring, Summer and Fall
An Eze-Breeze porch in Canton uses sliding panels with lightweight vinyl glazing that raise or lower to open about three-quarters of the window area. On a mild day you slide them open for nearly the feel of a screened porch, and when wind or a cold front rolls in from the hills you close them up.
Vinyl glazing is lighter and more affordable than glass, which makes these panels a practical way to stretch porch season. Many owners pair them with Phifer BetterVue insect screen, which keeps the view bright and clear thanks to its smaller yarn. The result is a room that works for a spring cookout, a summer ballgame on the radio and a cool October morning with coffee.

Common Questions From Canton Homeowners
My Canton home is close to the Etowah River. Will a screen porch help with mosquitoes?
A properly fitted screen enclosure is one of the simplest ways to enjoy the outdoors near water without the bites. Tight mesh across every opening, plus a screen door that closes cleanly, keeps mosquitoes and gnats outside while the breeze comes through. We look at your porch during a free estimate and point out any gaps that would let insects in.
Can you screen a covered deck on a newer house off Interstate 575?
Yes. A covered deck with a solid roof is often a great starting point for a screen porch, since the posts and roof are already in place. We build framing to fit between them and add screen and a door. Call (678) 640-3405 to describe the deck, and we will arrange a free estimate at your Canton home.
Is an Eze-Breeze enclosure worth it in Canton compared with plain screen?
It depends on when you want to use the room. Plain screen is ideal for warm months. Eze-Breeze vinyl panels let you close the porch on cool or windy days in spring and fall, so you get more weeks out of it. Some Canton owners start with screen and add panels later. We can price both options at your home.
Do you replace window screens on older homes near downtown Canton?
Yes. We rescreen existing window frames and build new custom screens for openings that standard sizes do not fit, which is common on older houses. Tell us how many windows need attention and whether the frames are bent or simply torn, and we will plan the visit. Call Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, for your free estimate.
