Right Here in Town

A Local Screen Company That Lives and Works in Alpharetta

Our shop is in Alpharetta, so the homes we serve here are the homes of our own neighbors. Russ Henderson owns the business and helps each homeowner find the right answer, whether that is a simple screen replacement or a full porch enclosure. Because we are close by, setting up a free estimate in Alpharetta is usually as simple as one phone call.

Alpharetta sits in northern Fulton County, about 26 miles north of downtown Atlanta. The town was called Milton until it was chartered as Alpharetta on December 11, 1858, and it served as the county seat of Milton County until 1931, when that county merged into Fulton. Much has changed since then, from the shops of the downtown City Center to the Avalon development that opened in 2014, yet the back porch is still where many Alpharetta families spend their evenings.

What We Install for Alpharetta Homes

Each of our services has its own page with the details. Here is how they fit the houses we see around town.

Outdoor Alpharetta

Big Creek, Wills Park and the Case for a Screened Room

Alpharetta loves to be outside. The Big Creek Greenway follows Big Creek through the woods from Windward Parkway to Mansell Road, the Alpha Loop connects neighborhoods, offices, dining and entertainment, and the Alpharetta Arboretum at Wills Park sets aside room for the city's trees. Summer nights bring the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, its summer home.

All that green space comes with the usual north Georgia company: thick yellow pollen in spring and mosquitoes and gnats once the weather warms. A screened porch keeps the good part and filters out the rest. For the clearest view of a wooded yard, consider Phifer BetterVue screen, which uses a smaller yarn than standard fiberglass, lets in more light and is flame retardant.

Fitting Screens to Every Kind of Alpharetta House

Alpharetta's homes cover a long stretch of history. The Simeon and Jane Rucker Log House dates to 1833, and the Mansell House and Gardens is a 1912 Queen Anne-style home that now hosts special events. Whether your own house is a century old or built last year, few porches or windows share exactly the same measurements.

That is why we measure every opening in person instead of guessing from a photo. A screen built to the real size of a porch bay or window frame sits tight, keeps bugs from slipping in at the edges and holds up better than a loose fit. It also keeps the project simple: one visit to measure, then an installation planned around your schedule.

Other Towns We Reach From Alpharetta

GA 400 and State Route 9 run straight through Alpharetta, which makes it an easy starting point for the rest of the north metro. Along with our home town, we serve these nearby communities, and the full list is on our service areas page.

Questions From Alpharetta Homeowners

Is your shop really in Alpharetta?

Yes. Nelson Aluminum Products Inc is based in Alpharetta, and the city is our home town. That means Alpharetta homes are among the closest we serve, from neighborhoods near downtown and Avalon to homes along the Big Creek Greenway. We come to you for the free estimate, measure the porch, windows or doors on site, and explain the options in person before any work is planned.

My Alpharetta porch is covered in pollen every spring. Will new screen help?

New screen will not stop pollen completely, since the grains are fine enough to drift through any insect mesh. A fresh, tight screen does keep out leaves, insects and much of the debris that blows onto an open porch, and it is far easier to rinse clean than furniture. For more protection on windy spring days, ask about Eze-Breeze sliding panels instead.

Do you only work on porches, or on windows and doors too?

We do all three. Along with porch rescreening and new screen porch enclosures, we install new and custom window screens, rescreen existing window frames, and install screen doors for porches, patios and back entries. You can also combine jobs, such as rescreening the porch and replacing worn window screens in the same visit, so the whole house is ready for warm weather.

When can I call to schedule an estimate in Alpharetta?

Call (678) 640-3405 Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. If you would rather write, you can email rhende6297@aol.com or send the form on our contact page, and we will reply during business hours. Tell us what you have in mind for your Alpharetta home, and we will set a time to visit and give you a free estimate.
