Porch Enclosures

Screen Porch Questions Alpharetta GA Homeowners Ask

What does a screen porch enclosure involve?

A screen porch enclosure turns an open porch, deck or patio into a screened room. We measure each opening, build the frame and panels to fit, and stretch screen across them so air moves through while insects stay outside. Our screen porch installation page walks through how a new enclosure comes together and what to decide before the work starts.

Can a porch be rescreened without replacing the frame?

Yes, in many cases. When the frame is straight and solid, we remove the old, torn or faded screen and install fresh mesh in the same openings. It is usually a smaller job than a new enclosure and keeps the look of your porch. Our porch rescreening page explains the signs that a porch needs new screen and how the work is done.

What is a Florida style porch?

A Florida style porch uses a light aluminum frame with screen panels that wrap the space, often over a patio, so the whole area feels open to the yard while bugs stay out. It suits homeowners who want an airy, screened outdoor room. See our Florida style porches page for how these enclosures are planned and built at your home.

Common Window Screen Questions

Do I need new window screens or just new screen in my frames?

It depends on the frames. If a frame is bent, cracked or missing, a new screen built to size is the better choice, and our window screen installation service covers new and custom screens. If the frame is still square and sound, putting new mesh into it is often enough, which saves the frame you already own.

How do you replace a torn window screen?

We take the screen out of the window, remove the damaged mesh and spline, and install new screen pulled tight across the existing frame. The repaired screen goes back into the same opening with a clean, even surface. Our window screen replacement page covers this rescreening work, including when a frame can be saved and when it cannot.

Can you put a screen door on my patio or back door?

Yes. We fit new screen doors for patio openings, back doors and porch entries, sized to the doorway so they close cleanly and keep insects out while you let fresh air in. Visit our screen door installation page to learn which doors we handle and what to expect from the visit to your home.

Eze-Breeze Enclosure Questions

What are Eze-Breeze sliding panels?

Eze-Breeze panels are lightweight, vinyl-glazed panels that sit inside a porch frame and raise or lower like a window. With the panels open, about three-quarters of the window area lets air through the screen. With them closed, the porch is sheltered from wind and rain. Our Eze-Breeze porch enclosures page explains how they are installed.

Eze-Breeze vs glass windows: which is better for a porch?

For most porches, Eze-Breeze vinyl glazing makes sense because it is lighter and more affordable than glass. The panels move easily and open wide to the screen for breezy days. Glass suits a fully conditioned room, which is a different kind of project. Read more on our Eze-Breeze enclosures page, or call to talk through your porch.
